Middle School
The Middle School at Kearnan College caters for students from Years 7 – 9. We support the development of academic skills and social strategies so that students in these year groups can move through the exciting, yet challenging, transition of early adolescence.
The aim of our Middle School is to provide all students with a quality education which enables them to develop their skills, knowledge and talents to the fullest extent.
The Kearnan Experience
Our Middle School provides a setting that nurtures and supports students through the early high school years. The transition to Secondary School can be daunting, so our Year 7 Coordinator works closely with students to ensure a smooth entry to high school. We cater for our Year 7 students with supportive homeroom integration at the start of the year, a peer support program and designated class and locker areas. These elements are aimed at enhancing our students’ sense of belonging and reduce many of the initial fears faced by some students when they commence Secondary School.
Curriculum
The College offers a broad and comprehensive curriculum aimed to meet the needs of all students. Practical and creative rotations in Years 7 and 8 allow students to discover and develop their skills in arts, sports and technologies with the help of dedicated specialist teachers.

Senior School
Senior School at Kearnan College encompasses Years 10, 11 and 12. Our students are able to access a wide range of programs that provide challenging academic opportunities, while meeting the needs of our students and preparing them for life beyond school.
We seek to maximise the learning of each individual student, encouraging and assisting them in reaching their full potential and attaining their goals.
Our Year 10 curriculum enhances student learning and supports the transition to Year 11 and 12 courses. Students in Year 10 are able to undertake subjects that can be accredited towards the Western Australian Certificate of Education (WACE). As such, our students can work towards secondary graduation over three years instead of two.
A range of VET and General courses cater for students wishing to follow a vocational pathway. Our strong links with the local community offer enhanced training opportunities for students. Workplace Learning enables students to gain valuable knowledge, skills and experience in a work environment. The school works closely with the regional TAFE, complimenting and tailoring students’ timetables to incorporate Certificate training as part of their coursework. Additionally, students who enrol in a school-based traineeship receive invaluable assistance from both College staff and the business community.
A broad range of ATAR and General courses are offered in Senior School, preparing students to graduate with excellent prospects for university, career training or employment.

ViSN
Kearnan College has access to CEWA’s ViSN (Virtual in School Network) program, providing an opportunity for students to complete courses online that were not able to be offered face-to-face. Students have successfully completed courses in the following areas:
