Quality Teaching

Our approach to education goes beyond academics to develop the whole person: spiritually, physically, socially and intellectually. Our students learn to balance their academic, practical, and creative pursuits with friendships, family, and faith in a community environment.

Kearnan College students graduate with a sense of purpose, a growing confidence in the contribution they can make to the world, and a commitment to helping others.

The school maintains a strong focus on our School Improvement Plan. This plan identifies three focus areas:

• Leadership: We enable strong and capable school leadership, at all levels, that raises expectations of all in the school community. We create an accountable culture and our senior school leaders create opportunities for those in middle leadership positions to excel in their roles, thereby improving student outcomes.
• Curriculum & Teaching: High-quality teaching is evident across all classrooms. We ensure there is rigour in our instruction, use data to inform our practice and ensure that students experience consistent teaching approaches in all classes.
• Engagement: We create a school culture where every student is engaged in their learning. This is achieved through a focus on calm and orderly learning environments where all students are known well and understand what is expected of them.
