TREE PROGRAM

Secondary students attending Kearnan College travel from a variety of local townships, including Pemberton, Northcliffe, Quinninup, Bridgetown, Nannup, Balingup and Boyup Brook. To be student-focused in our vision, it is important that we engender transparent relationships with the wider community.

We highly value our relationships with local Catholic Primary Schools St Mary’s Boyup Brook, St Brigid’s Bridgetown and St Joseph’s Pemberton. Commencing in 2013, the TREE (Teaching, Research, Education and Evaluation) Program has greatly enriched these relationships. A recipient of a prestigious Catholic Education Western Australia LEAD Award for Excellence in the category of Engagement, this Program has led to a number of benefits:

  • Common assessment and moderation across the schools

  • The implementation of TREE Talks, a public speaking competition

  • Enhanced collaboration

  • Facilitation of rich K-12 curriculum dialogue which cultivates a smoother transition from primary school to secondary school.
